Meritus Homes
Deerfield-based
Meritus Homes has taken over the Remington Glen town house development
in St. Charles. The former Remington Homes property fell into
foreclosure in 2010.
Meritus will build town houses priced from the upper $100,000s on the 33 remaining sites of the original 103-unit plan.
Originally
priced from $291,900 to $326,900, the base prices of the luxury units
were cut in 2008 by as much as $37,000. In a sales promotion, Remington
Homes also had offered a no down payment option.
The new town
homes will measure 1,645 to 2,020 square feet with two to three
bedrooms, 21/2 baths and attached two-car garages. Some plans will have
lofts or first-floor master bedrooms.
Located on the west side of
the city on Peck Road, the development is near the Great Western Trail
and LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve.
The sales office is scheduled to open in late August.
